In addition to the scientific conference sessions hosted by UNESCO, the organizers encourage other interested and relevant stakeholders, including scientific institutions, the private sector, NGOs, think tanks, young scientists and/or student organisations, artists (the list is not exclusive) to organize Side Events.�

Side events can be held worldwide. The time frame to organize them is from June 1, 2015 to July 15, 2015, not uniquely during the conference. �

Please note that accreditation will not be given to Side Events organized during the Conference Plenary Sessions (see the schedule for these sessions here) and that organization of Side Events is at the entire expense of organizers, including logistics.

  • promotion during the conference (expected 1,800 participants)
  • advertising on our website (short description, outcomes and link to your side event website)
  • contacts with other side events organizers via the common webpage
  • access to the main outputs of the conference

Questions


Why do we encourage side events?�
Side Events aim to increase dialogue between academics and stakeholders, between science and society on all aspects of climate change. Selected Side Events will be accredited by the Conference�s High-Level Board and will be part of the official Conference programme.

What are the accreditation criteria?
Side Events will be reviewed according to the following criteria:
  • Relevance to the scope and objectives of the conference
  • Openness to diversity of views
  • Side Event to be held in the period mentioned above (June 1, 2015 to July 15, 2015, excluding the slots dedicated to the Plenary Sessions of the Conference)
